Introduction
Adrue is a common African and Asian herbal medicine. The plant is considered a rush or sedge and grows to approximately 6' in height. The tuberous rhizomes are medicinally used and are said to have a pleasing aroma, the aromatic properties of the plant 'cause a feeling of warmth'

Adrue - As a Treatment For
Adrue has been used to help control nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and gas as well as headaches, epilepsy and some female disorders such a menstrual irregularity, breast pain and vaginal discharge.
A study into its historical use show that is may have an effect on headaches and epilepsy due to its effects on neurotransmitters in the brain.
Its aromatic properties have an overall calming effect, specifically on the digestive system, helping to control vomiting and nausea and aiding in the elimination of gas.
